Raksha Bandhan Special Train 2026: With passenger demand rising ahead of Raksha Bandhan on August 28, Indian Railways has announced a number of special train services on busy routes. The additional services are intended to accommodate festival traffic and provide more travel options for passengers heading home to celebrate with their families. Reports indicate that 47 special trains have been announced across different routes, with services connecting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other regions. 

Special Trains From Delhi, Prayagraj and Other Cities

Several festival-special services have been scheduled around Raksha Bandhan. Among them, an unreserved special train 04410/04409 between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Mathura Junction is scheduled around August 27-28.

Railways is also operating 01915/01916 between Prayagraj and Banaras, while special services numbered 01917/01918 between Subedarganj and Aunrihar are among the additional arrangements made for festival passengers. (aajtak.in)

Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special Train

Passengers travelling between Madhya Pradesh and Delhi will also get a special service.

Train No. 01701 Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special will leave Jabalpur at 8:20 PM on August 29 and is scheduled to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 2:25 PM the following day.

The return service, Train No. 01702 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Special, will depart Hazrat Nizamuddin at 3:45 PM on August 30 and reach Jabalpur at approximately 9:30 AM on August 31. (nativeplanet.com, abplive.com)

The train will serve important stations including Katni Murwara, Damoh, Sagar, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Gwalior, Dholpur, Agra Cantt, Mathura Junction and Kosi Kalan. 

Kota-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special

Passengers travelling between Rajasthan and Delhi also have additional options. Train No. 09803 from Kota has been scheduled for August 22, 24 and 26, while its return service 09804 from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Kota is scheduled for August 23, 25 and 27. 

This service could help passengers travelling on the Rajasthan-Delhi corridor during the festival rush.

Bhopal-Rewa Special Train

Special trains have also been arranged between Bhopal and Rewa.

Train No. 02155 Bhopal-Rewa Superfast Special was scheduled to leave Bhopal at 10:25 PM on August 25, reaching Rewa at 7:20 AM the next morning.

The return 02156 Rewa-Bhopal Superfast Special is scheduled to leave Rewa at 6:35 PM on August 26 and reach Bhopal at 4:30 AM the following day. Additional Bhopal-Rewa special services are also being operated around the festival period. 

Khati Pura-Howrah Special Train

Railways has also scheduled a special service from Rajasthan towards eastern India. According to the announced timetable, Train No. 09709 Khati Pura-Howrah Special is scheduled to leave Khati Pura at 5:00 PM on August 29. (aajtak.in)

Passengers planning to use festival-special trains should pay particular attention to the operating date because many of these services are temporary and may run only on selected days.

Festival periods usually bring heavy demand for railway tickets, particularly on routes connecting major cities with smaller towns. The special services can provide additional capacity, but schedules, stoppages and operating dates can vary by train.
